El Racing de Ferrol cuenta con un gran número de equipos de base, en los que se intenta sobre todo, fomentar la práctica del deporte en los más jóvenes. En la escuela de fútbol-7, se intenta única y exclusivamente que los niños disfruten jugando al fútbol y educarlos en el deporte. No se buscan trofeos ni crear figuras de 9 años, se intenta por todos los medios que los niños aprendan la convivencia en un equipo y que la diversión está por encima de la competición.

De la mano de su director, Javier Fernández y la supervision de Xurxo Pena, la escuela de fútbol es un referente en el fútbol de base de la comarca. Criticada por muchos por el gran número de equipos que tiene, sigue siendo una herramienta cultural y deportiva muy grande y seguirá trabajando en este aspecto en el futuro.
